With Budget 2027 set to be tabled on 9 October 2026, it aims to achieve the balancing act of two key imperatives of the MADANI Government: supporting the rakyat amid rising living costs and helping businesses navigate a challenging economic environment, while strengthening Malaysia’s resilience and growth prospects.
Against a backdrop of multiple global pressures, including the global energy crisis, Budget 2027 seeks to address near-term pressures while keeping longer-term economic priorities in focus. As the second year of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026–2030, it also builds on the Plan’s broader development direction.
The Budget is guided by three priorities: raising the ceiling for national growth, raising the floor for living standards and driving governance reform. Key areas of focus include fiscal sustainability, social protection and industrial upgrading, with strategic areas such as AI, digital services and the energy transition continuing to shape Malaysia’s growth agenda.
