Karl is a chemist by background and acts as a Subject Matter Expert who works across KPMG’s audit, tax and advisory functions. His unique blend of skills and perspective allows him to solve complex challenges, providing clients with versatile solutions. Karl’s areas of expertise include Government and Strategy, Project and Contract Management, Procurement, and Carbon Accounting. Throughout his tenure at KPMG, Karl has project managed and contributed to several projects of national significance.

His areas of expertise also include Greenhouse Gas (‘GHG’) accounting and other services relating to emissions, where he helps organisations across various industries to quantify and reduce their carbon footprint. Being certified by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, he holds a deep understanding of GHG accounting standards and best practices, enabling him to develop scientific models which estimate emissions. His engagement portfolio includes work with large Financial Institutions, mandated to disclose emissions as part of regulatory obligations.

Through his proposal writing and project management skills, as well as knowledge of EU and national funding programmes, Karl helps provide end-to-end funding solutions to clients with programme identification, project planning, design, and management. His approach ensures that clients not only secure funding, but also comply with the intricate post-grant project compliance requirements.
