SFC Consultation on OTC Derivatives and Conduct Risks
A market update on the Securities and Futures Commission’s (SFC) latest consultation paper in relation to the OTC derivatives regime
KPMG China’s latest market update looks at the Securities and Futures Commission’s (SFC) consultation paper in relation to Hong Kong’s OTC derivatives regime.
On 20 December 2017, the SFC released a consultation paper proposing a series of amendments and changes in relation to OTC derivatives.
The consultation encompasses risk mitigation, client clearing, record keeping and licensing matters, and proposes new conduct requirements to address risks posed by group affiliates. This update explores the impact the new requirements will have on Licensed Corporations (LCs) in Hong Kong.
