Hong Kong Capital Markets Update - Issue 3, June 2016
The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (“the Exchange”) published a new guidance letter, ‘Guidance on IPO Vetting and Suitability for Listing’ (GL 68-13A), on 3 June 2016. In GL 68-13A, the Exchange sets out the additional requirements for listing applicants with certain identified characteristics, which indicate that the primary reason for the listing may be due to the perceived value attached to the listing status as opposed to a genuine need for fundraising.
