Primary goal
Commission the project within stringent targets
As energy demand continues to grow, the successful delivery of large-scale renewable power infrastructure is essential to strengthening energy resilience and supporting India’s target of 500 GW of renewables capacity by 2030. Hydropower projects often involve significant engineering complexity, geotechnical surprises, remote locations, diverse stakeholders, and demanding execution environments over many years.
These projects present unique construction, logistics, and environmental challenges. KPMG in India worked alongside project stakeholders to strengthen project delivery, improve visibility into risks and progress, and support effective decision making throughout execution, leading to commissioning of one of the fastest and cheapest hydropower projects in the country.
The hydropower project was suffering delays from various factors including contractor performance, geological issues, engineering challenges and more, where KPMG in India was onboarded to bring the project back on track.
KPMG in India provided Owners Management Consultancy (OMC) services through-out the project duration of 60 months, with the team’s continuous deployment at site, suggesting advanced construction methods, state-of-the-art equipment and technologies leading to overall timeline compression. We leveraged multiple advanced digital products; namely Building Information Modeling (3D to 5D), advanced drone-based progress monitoring, and our proprietary online monitoring platform, KPMG Project Improvement & Visualisation Online Tool (PIVOT).
KPMG in India supports project owners in strengthening programme governance, improving project controls and enhancing execution visibility across critical infrastructure investments. Through structured oversight and delivery support, we help stakeholders manage complexity and improve confidence throughout the project lifecycle.
