      Client

A leading electrical products and switchgear manufacturer in India

      Industry

Electrical products and industrial technology manufacturing

      Primary goal

Identify, prioritise and develop a roadmap for high-value AI use cases across the enterprise

A leading electrical products manufacturer with a nationwide presence sought to leverage AI to create value across its business, spanning customer-facing functions, channel partner ecosystems and core operations. Serving distributors, panel builders, residential construction projects and large retailers, the organisation aimed to identify opportunities that could enhance customer value while driving operational efficiency across the value chain.

KPMG in India worked with the client to develop an enterprise-wide AI roadmap, helping translate a broad set of ideas into a prioritised portfolio of high-impact initiatives supported by clear business cases and implementation plans.

      The opportunity

The client's leadership team had a strong mandate to use AI as a catalyst for transforming both front-office and back-office operations. However, AI opportunities existed across multiple business units, functions and customer touchpoints, creating a need for a structured approach to identify, evaluate and prioritise investments.

      Key challenges included:
      • Identifying the most valuable opportunities from a large and diverse pool of AI ideas
      • Improving experiences for customers and channel partners across multiple sales and service channels
      • Enhancing forecasting, planning and supply chain visibility across operations
      • Driving efficiency improvements across manufacturing and engineering processes
      • Establishing a practical roadmap for AI adoption with measurable business outcomes

      Our approach

Approximately 400 AI ideas were screened, assessed and prioritised to create a leadership-approved portfolio of high-impact initiatives supported by detailed business, technology and implementation plans.

The engagement focused on identifying AI initiatives capable of delivering measurable business impact while improving customer and partner experiences.

      • Agentic AI for service and inside sales

A multi-agent AI platform supporting customer and channel partner interactions across web, e-commerce and distributor management channels through voice and chat interfaces

      • AI-powered process parameter optimisation

An AI soft sensor and optimisation tool that predicts coating thickness in real time and recommends operating parameters to improve manufacturing performance and reduce silver consumption

      • AI-based intelligent energy management tool

An integrated EMS/PMS tool designed to optimise power sourcing, monitor power quality, identify root causes of disturbances and automate corrective interventions
