"My career in Information Technology began with a natural inclination towards problem-solving and logical thinking, as well as a strong desire to see technology create a real impact on people’s day-to-day work. From early on, I was particularly interested in the practical application of technology and in connecting it with business needs. Over the course of nearly 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work in different environments, develop my technical expertise, and gradually take on roles with increasing responsibility. My return to KPMG was a deliberate choice: an organization where technology is viewed as a strategic driver of value, rather than simply a support function.
Today, as IT Applications Manager, I lead the Software Applications Development team, which is responsible for stability, security, and continuous evolution of critical business applications. We support a wide range of business functions on a daily basis, ensuring that systems remain reliable, modern, and adaptable. Our main challenge is to ensure the uninterrupted operation of these systems, while at the same time actively and meaningfully supporting the organization’s digital transformation and its growing business needs.
Balancing day-to-day operational management with continuous improvement is achieved through clear priorities, transparency, and trust. I focus on creating an environment where the team can work calmly and effectively, even when everything seems urgent, always assessing the real impact and business risk before making decisions.
Trust between IT and Business is built through open communication, a strong understanding of business objectives, and consistency in delivering on commitments - but above all, through the people and the relationships that are built along the way. That is why what makes me most proud in my career is not a specific technical achievement, but the people I have worked with and grown alongside through challenges and change.
To those starting their careers in Information Technology today, I would say: invest in the fundamentals, stay curious, do not be afraid to take on responsibility, and always remember that technology only creates value when it truly serves people and business."
