“I have been part of the KPMG family since 2023 in the role of Senior Manager, and what stood out to me from the very beginning is its people. Although it is a demanding environment, there is genuine collaboration, support, and a real willingness to help one another. For me, this is extremely important because I believe professional growth becomes more meaningful when high expectations are combined with a human approach and strong teamwork.
From an early stage, I knew I wanted to study Accounting and Finance with the goal of working in an audit firm. In my environment, I often heard that the Big4 companies truly represent a ‘school’ in themselves. They give you the opportunity to continuously learn, to work with different people, businesses, and working environments. This was something that immediately appealed to me.
I started my professional career in tax certificates and later moved into statutory audit. At some point, I chose to also see the ‘other side’, outside of audit, taking on a role in accounting with responsibilities covering both financial reporting and human resources. This experience helped me better understand the preparation of financial information from a company’s perspective and combined with my previous experience, gave me a more holistic view of how businesses operate.
In my work, I try to act with consistency, flexibility, and a genuine understanding of each project’s needs. I believe that trust is built through clear communication, collaboration, and a real willingness to invest time in both the work and the people around you. At the same time, I believe it is very important to support younger team members and give them space to grow, because we all started out at some point needing guidance and support.
The main advice I would give to someone who wants to grow in this profession is to invest meaningfully in knowledge and to strive to truly understand what they are doing, rather than simply carrying out a process. The environment we work in is constantly evolving and becoming more demanding, so professional judgment, attention to detail, adaptability, and a continuous desire for learning and development are essential.”
