KPMG - UCY Internship Programmes

KPMG Cyprus in collaboration with the University of Cyprus and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has designed an innovative internship programme aiming to accelerate your career.

The main idea of this program is to provide you with the opportunity to gain real-life work experience, develop new skills and an insight into Life at KPMG during your university years. Your time and experience gained during the internship(s) will count towards 450 days of working experience required by the ICAEW to become a Qualified Chartered Accountant and therefore allow you to complete this requirement earlier!

You can join KPMG by choosing one of the below options:

• Option 1: one period of a 5-months duration (January-May) in one of our teams in Audit & Assurance, Tax and Advisory.

At the end of the 5-months internship programme, you will have the opportunity to secure an offer for a permanent position to pursue the ACA qualification after you graduate and/or the opportunity to attend a second 5-months internship in the following year.

• Option 2: two periods of 5-months duration (January-May) in one of our teams in Audit & Assurance, Tax and Advisory.

This program secures your participation in two 5-months internship programs and an offer for a permanent employment and training contract for the ACA Qualification, from day 1.

Once you graduate you will:

• Complete 5 or 10 out of 36 months of work experience required by ICAEW in order to become a Qualified Chartered Accountant depending on the above options
• Gain experience through 1 or 2 full-time paid internships in KPMG, working with highly caliber professionals in the industry and interact with an international network of KPMG members
• Achieve the completion of 12 out of 15 ACA professional examinations subject to ICAEW requirements
• Have a guaranteed permanent employment and training contract for the ACA  Qualification with KPMG just after your graduation

The ACCA Fast Track is an exclusive collaboration between KPMG Cyprus, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the University of Cyprus designed for you to fast track your dream career with KPMG.

This is an advanced and accelerated programme which provides you with the opportunity to complete your academic studies, all the professional examinations of the ACCA and acquire  unique working experience as you learn from our team of highly skilled professionals.

If you are studying Accounting & Finance in the University of Cyprus, you can participate in the ACCA Fast Track Programme during the 3rd and 4th year of your studies between January – May, whilst attending tuition for the ACCA exams. The exams are taken in June and September of each academic year.

The main advantages of this programme are:

• Gain an employment and training contract from day 1
• Gain 9 ACCA exceptions subject to ACCA requirements
• Complete the 4 remaining ACCA Strategic Professional exams
• 10 months of work experience counting towards the required experience to become an ACCA qualified professional
• ACCA full cost covered by KPMG (including study leave during internship)
• ACCA Affiliate status gained upon completion of the programme
• Gain real-life experience with a team of professionals on clients from a variety of industries and interact with an international network of KPMG members during the 2 full-time paid internships and onwards
