At KPMG Australia, your unique experiences and perspectives are welcome – we invite you to come as you are and make your mark.
This is your chance to spend your penultimate break with us, build your network, connect with subject matter experts and explore the countless opportunities available.
Applications for KPMG’s Vacationer Program will open on 16 February 2026.
About the KPMG Vacationer Program
Open to undergraduates and postgraduates in the second-last year of their degree, our Vacationer Program is a paid, full-time internship that runs for three to eight weeks. You’ll gain real-world experience working alongside professionals in your chosen field. The program is designed to help you decide if you’d like to launch your career with us after graduation. Many vacationers receive an offer to join our graduate program for the following year.
At the end of the program, you’ll have a clearer sense of your strengths, interests, and career goals, and you may receive an offer to join us as a graduate the following year.
Through our vacationer program, you will:
- Learn about the work we do and discover how you can make a difference for our clients, colleagues, and communities. You’ll get hands-on experience on real projects, not just shadowing.
- Take part in learning and development through face-to-face workshops, virtual sessions, and access to our online learning platform. Topics include technical skills, personal branding, and emerging areas like AI and analytics.
- Be supported by a dedicated People Leader and a buddy, who will help you navigate your internship, answer your questions, and support your growth.
- Build strong relationships and connect with peers through social events, networking sessions, and team activities. Many vacationers say these connections are a highlight of their experience.
- Join a national cohort of vacationers, with opportunities to network across divisions and locations, both in person and virtually.
- Attend a structured induction on your first day, where you’ll meet your team, learn about KPMG’s values, and get an introduction to our culture and ways of working.

KPMG Vacationer Program applications
Applications for KPMG’s Vacationer Program will open on 16 February 2026.
Who are we looking for?
We’re interested in more than just your academic record or qualification, we want to get to know you as a person. We believe that a mix of experiences, backgrounds, and viewpoints is essential for a safe, healthy, and high-performing workplace, and is central to KPMG’s values.
We look for people who are enthusiastic, open to new experiences, and ready to bring fresh ideas to the table. If you’re curious, love to learn, and want to make a real difference, you’ll fit right in. We value resilience, a growth mindset, and the ability to communicate your ideas with confidence.
There are a few eligibility criteria to keep in mind. To apply for the Vacation Program, you’ll need to be in the second-last year of your undergraduate or postgraduate degree and be available to work full-time for 3–8 weeks over the summer break. Some teams may require specific qualifications or fields of study, and you’ll need to have full-time working rights in Australia (citizenship or the appropriate visa).
If you’re ready to bring your unique perspective and energy to KPMG, we’d love to hear from you.
What can I do at KPMG?
We have teams who can work on just about any challenge. To help you decide where you fit, our roles are grouped into four pathways. Each of our specialised business areas and teams sit within these pathways and can align to your interests and qualification type.
It’s not just about the numbers. Use automation to audit and streamline financial reporting or identify acquisition opportunities and be involved in planning a client’s finance division structure.
This area is for you if you’ve studied accounting, actuarial studies or finance, but we are also looking for graduates who have studied environmental studies and data engineering.
How can we build for better? Problem-solving to benefit communities could see you identifying hacking weaknesses, advising on the reliability of assets, or assessing solar farms.
If you’ve studied information systems, computer science, engineering, commerce, economics, data science or business management, this could be the pathway for you.
Assess the problem, and draw on expert knowledge across almost any area to develop the solution. It’s supply chain, customer experience, human rights, policy reform, project management and everything in between that organisations need in order to thrive.
Just as the services in this pathway are broad, so too are the degree types we’re looking for. You could have a qualification in management, computer science, economics, human resources, information systems, behavioural science, accounting, communication or environmental studies, among many others.
Legal advice that understands business and clear and compliant tax services are key to helping clients thrive in a complex and fast-paced world with high scrutiny on tax decisions.
Our tax teams are looking for graduates with accounting, business, management and law degrees.
