The absence of an effective governance framework may create difficulties for family companies in their search for growth, perpetuity, and capital. A KPMG survey carried out globally found that 58% of family companies are looking for external funds to finance their investment plans, but finding the right strategic partner is even more challenging.
As a result, Family Companies may not be developing their growth potential to the fullest. These, and other factors, such as the search for sustainability and continuity make the implementation of Corporate Governance of utmost importance in family organizations which plan to achieve an effective development. Accordingly, the Corporate Governance theme becomes a matter to be discussed and promoted at a strategic level by companies and their respective owners.
