How new technologies are helping enterprises

New technologies and troves of data are helping enterprises create more value in nearly everything they do.

In this report, KPMG professionals share findings from a survey of more than 2,000 executives around the world, as well as insights from our work with clients across industries to illuminate how enterprises can capitalise on this historic inflection point, creating more value and achieving enduring competitive advantages.

The report also reveals that many enterprises are now strengthening four building blocks of success in the new era; data and tech foundations, transformation orchestration, resilient cultures, and ecosystem strategies to meet changing demands. These technological advances won’t create value on their own – success will require leaders to think and act in new ways.

Transforming the enterprise of the future

The new champions in a digital era

      Key findings from the report

      • 76% of senior leaders believe

adopting advanced technology such as generative AI and neural networks will increase the likelihood of transformation success.

      • 73% of digitally mature enterprises

have high levels of trust in their leader. Leadership style correlates strongly with transformation success. Engaged leaders build trust and commitment around their vision.

      • 80% of large enterprises

are now pursuing two or more concurrent organisational transformations. Technology has levelled the playing field and transformation is now constant and concurrent.

Our report highlights that while organisations have been increasing their maturity in the readiness to leverage new technologies; employee and other stakeholder management, culture and access to the right skills continue to be the challenge to a successful transformation.

The new digital building blocks of success

These are the most important building blocks in a digital-age transformation,
and actions you can take to implement them.

      here

      Foster a culture of trust

Culture confers an advantage as change becomes constant. Establishing a culture of trust, shared values, and alignment to strategic vision are a key to transformation success and long-term organisational resilience.

      Build strong partner ecosystems

Constrained capital, demand for digital capabilities, and changes in business models will spur enterprises to rethink their partner ecosystems to gain competitive advantage.

      Leverage the value of data

Digitally mature enterprises will outperform enterprises that are not leveraging the full value of their data, technology and people. The underinvestment in data and tech foundations and digital literacy puts future gains at risk.

      Align and orchestrate processes

With change becoming constant, it's more important than ever to deliver value at speed and at scale, through organisational alignment and orchestration.
