The Need for Data Protection Training
Given the accelerating pace at which data is created and collected daily, some argue that information has replaced oil as the world’s most valuable resource. Enterprises that can leverage the data they collect may derive significant competitive advantage. However, with this benefit comes significant responsibility, as regulators continue to demand organizations to implement adequate data privacy practices and controls to protect personal data.
The Data Protection Act, 2021 (DPA, 2021) requires organisations to implement continuous training and awareness for end users and data handlers. This will ensure that relevant personnel are equipped with adequate knowledge of their responsibilities and requirements of the regulation to deal with personal data.
Our Solution
Our approach to data protection training consists of a suite of learning modules which provide an in-depth understanding of Data Protection and Privacy under the Zambia Data Protection Regulation (ZDPR). This training is delivered via a Learning Management System (LMS) offering an interactive self-paced learning style that provides flexibility for learners.
The awareness training is more than a list of do’s and don’ts – it focuses on promoting a practical understanding of the regulation and the vital role of individual staff members in safeguarding themselves and their organization.
Combining the extensive knowledge of KPMG’s dedicated Cyber and Privacy practice with capabilities in digital creative design and development, we have developed a data protection training platform that allows learners the flexibility and style to learn at their own pace, whenever and wherever.
Each module engages learners through enlightening and interactive content that provide insights into today’s data protection regulation, practices, threats, risk, and the vital role played by every individual in an organization.
Features of the LMS
The platform comes with features providing users the flexibility and ease of use that promotes learning and knowledge retention. Key features of the LMS include:
