Taxpayers affected by Hurricane Otis (State of Guerrero)

An agreement was published in the official newspaper of the government of the State of Guerrero on 10 November 2023, granting tax relief measures to taxpayers affected by Hurricane Otis with tax domicile in the municipalities of Acapulco de Juárez and Coyuca de Benítez.

  • An extension until March 2024 is granted for the presentation of monthly declarations of state taxes for October, November, and December 2023. The declarations may be provided in a single exhibition or up to three partial exhibitions, but they are all due by May 2024.
  • An exemption from fines, surcharges, and updates for state taxes is also granted during the same period.
  • Likewise, all procedures, deadlines, and terms related to the powers of the tax authorities in matters of verification and inspection of state taxes are suspended during the same period.

The benefits granted do not give rise to any right to refund or compensation, or otherwise prevent the exercise of review and verification powers by the local tax authorities or the imposition of administrative sanctions in accordance with the applicable provisions.
