France: Tax measures in 2024 finance law include Pillar Two implementation and transfer pricing documentation changes

The draft law will be debated in the French Parliament over the next few months before being adopted at the end of December.

Tax measures in 2024 finance law

The finance law for 2024 was published on 27 September 2023. The most significant tax-related measures impacting companies had already been unveiled in the press over the previous few weeks and include:

  • Implementation of the EU Directive on Pillar Two into domestic law
  • Adjustment of the timetable for phasing out the contribution on companies’ added value (cotisation sur la valeur ajoutée des entreprises or CVAE) between 2024 and 2027
  • Introduction of a new tax credit for investments in “green industries”
  • Implementation of several measures regarding transfer pricing documentation requirements

The draft law will be debated in the French Parliament over the next few months before being adopted at the end of December.
