Notice of hearing: Proposed regulations on reinstated Superfund chemical tax and Superfund imported substance tax

A notice of public hearing [PDF 178 KB] was published today in the Federal Register concerning proposed regulations relating to the reinstated excise taxes imposed on certain chemicals and certain imported substances (known as the Superfund chemical taxes).

The hearing is scheduled for October 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. ET. The IRS must receive speakers’ outlines of the topics to be discussed at the hearing by October 11, 2023. If no outlines are received by October 11, 2023, the hearing will be cancelled.
