The Israel tax authority released instructions for Israeli financial institutions providing guidance for reporting in the automatic exchange of information (AEOI) portal in accordance with the common reporting standard (CRS). This enables a financial institution or entity member of a multinational group to submit an application to register as a financial institution as required to declare or be exempted from declarations, or publish and monitor reports. The service is free of charge.

To apply, representatives of the financial institution must possess a government-issued smart card and register through the AEOI portal. After registering, the report can be attached in an XML format in accordance with the CRS standard. After successful transmission of the report, feedback will be provided to confirm its accuracy.
