British Virgin Islands: No penalties for late filings due to BVIFars technical difficulties

Tax authority urges users to continue trying to file through the portal

No penalties for late filings

The tax authority of the British Virgin Islands on 1 June 2023 announced that, due to technical difficulties users are facing while attempting to file through the BVI Financial Account Reporting System (BVIFars), penalties will not be issued for late filings.

The tax authority acknowledged that it is working to resolve the issues and hopes the portal will fully functional next week. Meanwhile, the tax authority urges users to continue trying to file through the portal.
