Canada’s 2023 federal budget will be presented on 28 March 2023. Based on indications in recent announcements, past federal budgets, and the 2022 federal fall economic update, possible tax changes in the 2023 budget include:
- Details on clean technology and energy credits
- 2% share buyback tax on certain corporations
- New minimum tax on high-net-worth individuals
- Review of the scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) program, including consideration of a patent box regime
- Measures to address new climate-related U.S. tax incentives
