Sanctions against Russia and Belarus
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Commerce Department today released for publication in the Federal Register a final rule expanding and strengthening existing sanctions against Russia and Belarus, including the scope of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)’s Russian and Belarusian industry sector sanctions and “luxury goods” sanctions.
The final rule [PDF 452 KB]—effective today, February 24, 2023—also refines existing export controls on Russia and Belarus.
