Poland: Family foundations law signed by president

The president on 6 February 2023 signed the law on family foundations.

According to the information available on the government’s website, the law is to be published on 23 February 2023 at the latest and will become effective three months after promulgation. 

Background

Family foundation is a new concept in Polish law, intended for family businesses. It has been designed to effectively protect family assets and business continuity when the business owner descendants are unwilling to or cannot manage the company directly.
