The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on 17 February 2023 issued updates regarding the reporting of U.S. taxpayer identification number (TIN) codes for FATCA purposes for calendar years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The codes have been updated to better reflect the reason that a foreign financial institution was unable to obtain a U.S. TIN as part of the relief provided in Notice 2023-11. Read TaxNewsFlash
