Entities conducting one or more relevant activities for economic substance purposes must file by 11 November 2022

Economic substance returns due 11 November 2022

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that entities conducting one or more relevant activities for economic substance purposes must file their economic substance return for FY 2021 by 11 November 2022.

KPMG observation

Businesses in Bahrain may review their activities (both in form and substance) to determine whether they are conducting a relevant activity under the Bahrain economic substance rules and assess whether they will need to file an economic substance return.

It is currently unclear whether entities that already filed their FY 2021 economic substance returns will need to file again.
