Nancy Valley is the National Sector Leader of KPMG’s Government Practice, responsible for audit, tax and advisory services delivered to Federal, State and Local Government, as well as Higher Education and Non-Profit clients. With more than 30 years of experience with the firm, Nancy serves some of KPMG’s largest and most complex governmental client engagements.
A former Controller for a mid-size New York State County, Nancy has dedicated most of her career to meeting the needs of State and Local Government. She has extensive experience performing program compliance, financial management, internal control, performance improvement reviews, as well as various transformation and cost containment studies.
In addition, Nancy served as engagement partner for various Single Audits of states and municipalities. She helped design the Single Audit Approach for various clients including large counties and the Medicaid Audit Approach for several large states. Nancy has also helped municipalities with maximizing their federal revenue that claimed over $100 million in additional federal funds. In addition, she assisted human services organizations with assessing and improving their program compliance, internal controls, and performance improvement reviews.
