Adam Levy is an Advisory Principal in KPMG LLP’s Risk Consulting practice with over 18 years of experience in financial risk management. He has professional experience in the consumer and commercial lending industry, as well as Stress Testing and Allowance for Loan Losses and Leases (ALLL). Adam is one of the Partner signers at KPMG for ALLL Audit Assists of KPMG’s banking and finance company audits. Adam also has deep experience in Model Risk Management including model development, documentation, and validation. Additionally, Adam is a member of the leadership team focused on creating and delivering CECL solutions to our banking and finance clients. Adam has also served as a CECL training instructor and presentor for various clients ranging in size and complexity.

Professional and industry experience

  • Led CCAR redevelopment and re-fit of retail credit card and auto loan models for one of the largest based US banks. Models included loan level models based on hazard modeling methodologies. 
  • Developed CECL loan level credit card models for top card issuer in the US. Models included PD, LGD, prepayment, forecast, and roll forward.
  • Led CCAR model development project for consumer bank. Models were developed based on KPMG’s model framework, models developed included credit loss models and loan balance models.
  • Led an engagement team which built and implemented enhanced ALLL and Representation and Warranty models for commercial bank. Models and documentation were built in accordance with OCC 2011 12.
  • Performed in excess of 100 Audits Assists as a Subject Matter Professional conducting ALLL methodology reviews and Commercial Loan file reviews for Bank Audit Clients.
  • Managed Model Validation services engagements for several commercial bank. Models validated included high risk models with varying complexity. Model types included Credit Risk, Risk Rating, Forecasting, Budgeting, ALLL (varying methodologies), DFAST, and Default Management.
  • Developed Model Risk Management (MRM) framework for DFAST sized bank, work included development of MRM governance, policies and validation procedures, model inventory, model risk ranking, and MRM training to bank personnel.
  • Developed Credit Framework for a leading finance company seeking to become a Bank Holding Company (BHC), duties included subject matter professional, business lead and lead project manager for both consumer and commercial BHC initiatives. Projects included: enterprise level credit policies, line of business (LoB) credit policies, LoB credit risk committees. SAG and workout policies, model governance framework and policy, LoB credit procedures, and identification and assessment of key credit controls throughout the credit lifecycle.
