      On 29 September 2023, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic published a call for proposals from the Program Slovakia under Priority: 8P1 Just Transition Fund, aimed at synergistic support of projects that qualified for regional investment aid. 

      The support is intended for large enterprises for the acquisition of machinery, apparatus, equipment and long-term intangible assets (industrial rights, licences, know-how) that qualified for regional investment aid under Act No 57/2018 Coll. on regional investment aid (Investment Aid Act). The acquisition of land and buildings are excluded, even if the assets form part of the eligible investment costs under the Investment Aid Act.  

      The objective of the call

      To support investments with a focus on job creation in selected districts in the Trenčín and Košice self-governing regions, which are among the regions designated for support from the Just Transition Fund (JTF). The JTF supports areas within the EU, which are most affected by the transition towards climate neutrality (for example the closure of coal mines). The Prievidza and Partizánske district located in the Trencin self-governing region and all Kosice districts (I-IV), Košice - Okolie and the Michalovce district in the Košice self-governing region qualify as such area.

      Aid is provided in the form of cash grants for the acquisition of machinery, equipment and long-term intangible assets and represents an additional source of financing for investment intentions to companies, which have qualified for investment aid under Slovak Investment Aid Act.

      The available call allocation

      The available call allocation is EUR 36 013 000:

      • EUR 22 136 429 for projects implemented in the districts of Partizánske and Prievidza,
      • EUR 13 876 571 is allocated for projects implemented in the districts of Košice I, Košice II, Košice III, Košice IV, Košice - Okolie, Michalovce.

      Depending on the location of the project, the maximum aid intensity of the investment project according to the regional aid map is:
