The interactive exhibit highlighted the profound influence of ESG and AI adoption on our future.
Recognising the growing need for businesses to address Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) challenges and embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) for innovation, KPMG in Singapore unveiled a visually captivating exhibit that empowers businesses and communities to perceive the far-reaching impact of their choices, driving home the significance of responsible decision-making in ESG and AI adoption.
Powered by real-time data, KPMG’s ‘Horizon Hues: Designing Tomorrow’s Business’ exhibits aggregated nearly 2,000 participant insights across two highly interactive installations entitled ‘Climate Horizons’ and ‘Tomorrow’s Mind’ at Singapore Design Week from 26 September to 5 October 2024.
A dynamic intersection of art, design, and data, the installations enabled participants to interact with digital canvases that reflected the ebb and flow of carbon emissions along with their choices, forming a visceral experience around the impact of their decisions and actions on ESG and AI adoption. This set the stage for deeper thought and guided conversations between the firm and clients, guests, and visitors on how businesses could be guided through these complex issues and the critical role that their choices play in the future of sustainability and the future of AI.
In ‘Climate Horizons’, for example, participants who expressed a reluctance to change their private transportation habits despite an awareness of public transport’s potential to reduce pollution, witnessed an intensification of flames on the display. By demonstrating how small, everyday actions can either worsen or alleviate the climate crisis, the installation emphasised the importance of collective accountability. It urged participants to reflect on their role in shaping the planet's future and underscored that meaningful change requires everyone to play their part.
Conversely, in ‘Tomorrow’s Mind’, a positive response — such as expressing enthusiasm about AI — caused the colourful area to expand, effectively overshadowing darker areas that symbolised scepticism. This striking contrast highlighted AI’s transformative potential and illustrated how embracing innovation can pave the way for a more optimistic and forward-thinking future.
During the welcome address at LASALLE College of the Arts on 27 September, Lee Sze Yeng, Managing Partner, KPMG in Singapore, emphasised the critical importance of conscious, shared action in fostering a sustainable future.

Aligned with sustainability efforts, the installations were designed using energy-efficient LED panels, which reduced power consumption while delivering vibrant, dynamic displays. These panels not only minimised the exhibition's environmental footprint but also ensured longevity and versatility for future showcases.
The exhibit itself was toured across different venues to extend its reach and impact. Starting at LASALLE College of the Arts from late September to 2 October, it then transited to Sound Park at Millenia Walk for Park & Dine on 4 and 5 October, followed by Asia Square Tower 2 till 11 October, allowing more visitors to experience the transformative power of the installations in new settings.
Through ‘Horizon Hues’, KPMG reaffirms its role as a leader and catalyst for change, with an aim to inspire businesses to harness the power of people, technology and data to address complex global challenges and discover clear opportunities through insights-led solutions.
