27 Feb 2026 - By this notice, let it be known that the dispute regarding the use of the KPMG name in Nigeria between KPMG Nigeria and KPMG Professional Services which is the subject of Appeal No. SC/CV/776/2025 – KPMG Professional Services v KPMG Nigeria (Practicing as KPMG Audit, KPMG Tax Consultants & KPMG Consulting) & Corporate Affairs Commission, as well as Suit No. FHC/L/CS/2213/2025 – KPMG Advisory Services v Corporate Affairs Commission, has now been amicably resolved.
As part of the resolution, KPMG Nigeria has irrevocably and permanently surrendered and relinquished any right to the use of the KPMG name generally and specifically as part of its business names registered at the Corporate Affairs Commission under the Companies & Allied Matters Act 2020 or with other regulatory authorities in Nigeria or where so ever. Accordingly, the only surviving KPMG entities in Nigeria are KPMG Professional Services and its associated businesses and affiliates with principal place of business at KPMG Tower, Bishop Aboyade Cole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The entity previously known as KPMG Nigeria, its privies, and associates maintain no further objection to the use by KPMG Professional Services, its associated businesses, and affiliates of the said KPMG name in registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission or other regulatory bodies in Nigeria.
Note: The above has been approved as part of the settlement agreement which was subject to review by the relevant stakeholders.
