Chineme is a Partner in the Energy & Natural Resources Audit Division of KPMG in Nigeria and has garnered over 14 years of professional experience providing audit and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) services to our clients in diverse industries and sectors of the Nigerian economy including power & utilities, oil and gas, consumer markets, telecommunications, media and technology as well as manufacturing and FMCG. Chineme has deep experience in providing audit and audit-related services including agreed upon procedures, process reviews and due diligence. He is very familiar with the power sector and have been involved in the audit of the statutory financial statements of a number of companies in this space including power distribution companies.
Chineme worked in our Department of Professional Practice West Africa for 7 years and is familiar with deadlines and requirements of multinational group reporting both under IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements. He has deep experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) conversion and training projects and has demonstrated this expertise in assisting our clients achieve their financial strategic objectives.
Chineme’s deep involvement in helping clients transit from the previously adopted reporting framework in Nigeria to IFRS reporting between 2012 and 2014 covers some ENR (majorly power companies) that he guided through their IFRS transition post privatization.
Chineme has facilitated various IFRS workshops for KPMG staff and other external companies’ conversion project teams and IFRS champions providing training that encapsulates the requirements of IFRS 9, 15 and 16.
Chineme training experience included facilitation of KPMG IFRS baseline and advanced application courses, IFRS training for the conversion project teams of several banks, training of selected oil and gas entities’ staff on Introduction to IFRS, IFRS Certification training program for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and training of KPMG staff and clients across various sectors on the requirements of IFRS 15 and 16.
