      The session brought together board members, audit committee representatives, and industry leaders to examine the evolving challenges associated with technology risk, cybersecurity, and digital governance. As organizations continue to advance digital transformation, the discussion explored the increasing importance of robust oversight in areas such as data governance, artificial intelligence, incident response, and enterprise-wide technology risk management.

      The panel featured insights from leading industry practitioners:

      • Suresh Emmanuel, Senior Vice President | Chief Information Security Officer, Hatton National Bank PLC

      The session was moderated by Lalith Withana, Director, Agility Consulting Services (Pvt) Ltd.



      A technical presentation was delivered by Hasitha Karunaratne, Director – Cyber Security & Digital Trust, KPMG Sri Lanka, who outlined key considerations in managing the evolving cyber threat landscape. His presentation highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring of the attack surface, strengthening cyber resilience in the context of accelerating artificial intelligence adoption, and preparing for the longer-term implications of emerging technologies such as quantum computing on encryption and digital trust.

      The discussions reinforced the expanding mandate of audit committees in overseeing technology-driven risks and highlighted the need for forward-looking governance frameworks that can respond to an increasingly complex digital environment.
