      We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Ranjani Joseph as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KPMG Sri Lanka & Maldives, effective 1 April 2026, marking a truly defining milestone as she becomes the first female to hold this position in the firm’s history.

      This appointment reflects a proud moment for the firm, celebrating not only leadership excellence, inclusion, and progress, but also an extraordinary professional journey shaped by unwavering dedication, resilience, and a consistent pursuit of excellence.

      With over 30 years of distinguished experience, Ms. Ranjani has been a cornerstone of the firm’s success, serving as Audit Partner and Head of Banking Services and Clients & Markets. Her leadership across the banking and financial services sector has played a vital role in strengthening our reputation for quality, integrity, and technical excellence.

      She has led as Lead Audit Partner for a large group of companies and brings extensive experience in auditing banking and financial services entities in Sri Lanka, including local branches of international banking institutions. Her expertise spans a wide range of industries including insurance, manufacturing, consumer markets, construction, logistics, information technology, and real estate reflecting her versatility and depth as a leader. 

      Her international secondment with KPMG Melbourne from 1999 to 2002 further enriched her leadership journey, where she managed complex audit and review engagements for major clients in the banking and financial services sector, broadening her global perspective and strengthening her strategic approach.

      As Financial Risk Management (FRM) Partner and a representative of KPMG in Sri Lanka in the KPMG Middle East South Asia (MESA) Financial Sector Network, she has led several critical initiatives including IFRS 9 transition projects, VaR validation, RAROC assessments, ICAAP processes, and the implementation of advanced risk assessment frameworks and models.

      Widely respected for her disciplined leadership, commitment to mentoring, and ability to lead with clarity and purpose, Ms. Ranjani has consistently set high standards for excellence. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the profession, she was honoured with the Best Women Practitioner Award by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).

      Her appointment stands as a powerful and uplifting inspiration to women across the profession demonstrating that leadership is built through perseverance, courage, and excellence, and that meaningful impact is created when talent meets determination and purpose. 

      As she steps into this new role, her bold thinking, steady leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence position her to drive transformational growth and shape a stronger, more dynamic future for KPMG in Sri Lanka & Maldives.
