      Joel is a Partner in our Accounting Advisory Services and leads the Risk Consulting Services group. Joel focuses on providing SOC 1 and SOC 2 services for fund administrators, outsourced financial statement preparation for hedge funds, forensic accounting and internal audit services.

      1. Areas of expertise
        • Joel also spent two years working in the hedge fund industry with a large fund administrator in the Cayman Islands.  While in industry, he was the account manager in charge of the office’s largest client and managed a staff of twelve fund accountants. 
        • Joel originally joined KPMG in the Cayman Islands in 2001 and was previously a manager in the audit group, focusing on the Alternative Investments industries.  He has also performed a short –term assignment in KPMG Dublin, where he worked on the audits of a mutual client of the Cayman Islands and Dublin offices, prior to being admitted to the partnership. 
      2. Education & qualification
        • Bachelor of Commerce degree (B.Comm) from the University of British Columbia
        • Member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants
        • Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia
