Businesses and private individuals have very different views on transport infrastructure in Germany. Depending on the mode of transport, businesses are calling for different improvements – in long-distance rail travel, in particular, punctuality and price transparency; and in road transport, improved traffic flow. For private individuals, punctuality and affordability are the key priorities. The findings of the KPMG Infrastructure Monitor make it clear where specific improvements should be made and what role new financing approaches play.

A robust transport infrastructure underpins growth and quality of life. The investment required exceeds government funding – private capital is therefore essential.
