At the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, world leaders, industry innovators and environmental activists will meet from 30 November 2023 to exchange ideas and develop strategies to combat the climate crisis. A total of 198 contracting parties will be represented, which is roughly equivalent to all countries in the world. In addition, there will be 3,000 representatives of international organisations and non-governmental organisations. This will bring together more than 70,000 participants by 12 December.

Benedikt Herles, EMA Head of ESG Insights & Innovation, is following the latest developments, debates and negotiations on the most important topics at COP28 - the energy transition, the acceleration of innovation and the connection between climate and nature. In our business blog "Klardenker", he describes what he expects from the conference and what resolutions he believes are needed to achieve the 1.5-degree target.
