The world of power generation, transmission and distribution is transitioning, with a growing number of countries pledging to achieve net zero emissions over the coming decades, creating many challenges, risks and opportunities for the energy sector.

Many government agencies and industry leaders are currently planning how to transition to a net zero energy system by 2050 while ensuring stable and affordable energy supplies, providing universal energy access, and enabling robust economic growth.

On the other side, the asset owners and contractors need to develop their relevant capabilities and capacities to ensure these energy projects will be developed and delivered on time and within budget while managing their risk exposures.

A number of reports highlight that Australia boasts a pipeline of over $800 billion large scale renewable projects, encompassing technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, hydrogen electrolysers and battery energy storage systems.

These projects and initiatives will bring unprecedented risks and opportunities for the Australian energy sector, in addition to existing challenges of low productivity, digitalisation and effective risk allocation and management faced by engineering and construction organisations.

In this webinar on ‘Successful Energy Projects – Lessons, Challenges, Risks and Opportunities', four leaders share their views on where and how you can plan for a successful energy project by using relevant strategies, processes, toolsets, contracts, change initiatives or simply additional training programs.

They also share their views on emerging challenges they see for the sector in the next 5 years.
