Sonila is a Senior Tax Manager in KPMG Albanian Practice. She joined KPMG Albania in 2007. Sonila has over 23 years of experience out of which 18 years with KPMG. During her career with KPMG, she has taken part in different tax engagements covering corporate direct and indirect tax advisory services, due diligence assignments and tax reviews. Prior to joining KPMG acted for a 5-year period as a Senior Tax Specialist with the Albanian General Tax Directorate.
Sonila has a wide experience in preparation of tax opinions and tax advisory reports in a range of sectors for various national and international clients in Albania. Sonila has specialized in tax compliance and tax advisory services in the areas of income tax, tax planning and issues pertaining to the application of double tax treaties and advice on customs law regulations. She possess a depth knowledge of the local legislation and practical issues of various tax and compliance legislation.
In addition, she has contributed for giving consultations for various laws and draft laws discussed in Albania. Her contribution was in commenting on the correctness of the laws proposed, participating in consultations with the government representatives and groups of the interest.
