Anele is an Associate Director and Head of IT Internal Audit and Governance within KPMG South Africa’s Technology Risk practice. He leads the function across Southern Africa, overseeing a team of 15 professionals and delivering IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and advisory services to large organisations, particularly within the financial services sector.
With extensive experience in technology risk and assurance, Anele has led engagements across programme assurance, IT controls improvement, cybersecurity governance, and IT operating model design. His expertise includes major transformation initiatives such as ERP implementations, SAP S/4HANA migrations, transactional banking programmes, and cybersecurity governance reviews aligned to frameworks including ISO 27002, NIST and CIS.
Anele regularly engages with executive leadership and governance forums, delivers technical training, leads strategic client proposals, and contributes to KPMG's regional and global technology risk thought leadership initiatives.
