Marius Botha is a qualified actuary with more than 20 years’ experience in financial services (of which 13 years were in executive leadership roles). He has led strategy development, budgeting, and large-scale fintech and insurtech implementations, including cloud and policy administration system migrations. His expertise spans digital transformation, digital marketing, business turnarounds, life insurance product development, reinsurance, IFRS 17, SAM & ORSA, actuarial business development and risk management.
He joined KPMG South Africa in April 2024. Previously, he served as Group CEO of aYo (MTN Insurtech business), Life Reinsurance Executive for Munich Re in Africa, Managing Director of Standard General Insurance (later CEO of King Price Life Insurance), and Head of Insurance & Savings at African Bank.
He began his career at Old Mutual as a life insurance actuary, specialising in actuarial valuations, financial reporting, employee benefits consulting and cell captive management.
