Commenting on the news, Bill Michael, Chairman and Senior Partner of KPMG in the UK, said:

“These promotions signal the confidence we have in the firm and our capacity for growth. The market opportunity has never been greater. By attracting the best to our partnership we are even better placed to deliver the highest quality work for our clients and help them with their most important challenges.

“We strive to deliver the best possible service to the capital markets and this is reflected in the promotion of 11 new partners in our audit practice. Assurance remains at the heart of our firm and this year we have strengthened our position as the largest auditor of FTSE 100 companies with success on a number of high profile tenders.

“Across consulting and deal advisory we have promoted 11 and six new partners respectively. We’ve also made a further eight promotions across tax, pensions and legal services and have appointed an additional partner for solutions and digital. It’s an exciting time for us as we help our clients capitalise on the massive changes in market conditions we expect to see from technology, geopolitics and evolving regulation.

“The great work and importance of our non-client facing business has also been recognised through the promotion of two new partners.

“I’d like to congratulate all our newly appointed partners and wish them every success in their roles.”

Anna Purchas, head of people at KPMG, said:

“We’re committed to attracting and retaining the best and brightest. Our promotions at partner and director level absolutely reflect this.

“In addition to the market leading knowledge these colleagues bring to the firm, these appointments also see further progress towards our inclusion and diversity targets: 36% of newly promoted partners are female, up from 29% in 2017, and 10% of new partners come from ethnically diverse backgrounds. For directors, 39% of those promoted are female, up from 32% in 2017 and 15% are from ethnically diverse backgrounds.”
