James Dennis

Director, Climate Risk and Decarbonisation Strategy at KPMG UK

KPMG in the UK

James works across KPMG’s Climate Risk practice and leads development of KPMG Climate IQ, leveraging his technical and commercial experience to assess the most material impacts of climate change on businesses, and identifying development activities which drive insights to deliver maximum value for our client. This experience is also leveraged through his role in leading KPMG’s Climate Risk projects for an international selection of corporate and financial clients.

He spent the early part of his career in engineering, working closely with power generators to optimise fleet-wide performance and to help them adapt to increasing demand for clean, flexible power generation. James’ KPMG career began in the UK firm’s Energy Deal Strategy team, advising a range of energy clients on market outlook, commercial strategy and supporting M&A transactions. James has also driven KPMG’s outlook for a globally nascent hydrogen market and has supported power, oil & gas, network and industrial clients to identify optimal positioning within the future hydrogen economy.
