Miles is the sector lead for KPMG’s Energy Deal Advisory practice and he specialises in providing deal advisory transaction support to clients across Energy & Infrastructure M&A in the UK and globally.

As a full time transaction specialist since 2001, Miles has advised on over 200 deals totalling more than £80 billion and has worked with a full range of sector investors and corporate clients on domestic and cross-border buy side and sell side transactions as well as IPOs and refinancings. Miles also leads our London Power & Utilities due diligence team which supports Clients across their investment process, from initial options analysis and market entry through to transaction execution and business plan realisation right across the sector value chain. His country experience includes transactions across the UK, Europe, Middle East, USA and Asia.

Miles’s wider experience includes his secondment to the UK Department of Energy & Climate Change (now BEIS) as a as a Senior Civil Servant and Head of Investor Relations, leading the Department's work to attract investors and finance to meet the UK's energy investment requirements where Miles worked extensively with strategic and financial investors from around the world as well as across all areas of UK Government including FCO and 10 Downing Street. As a former military reserve officer, Miles also maintains a keen interest in KPMG’s support to the military covenant and he is a Trustee of two maritime youth charities - the Portsmouth Sail Training Trust and the Andrew Simpson Foundation (which he chairs).
