Female Leaders Outlook in Ukraine COVID-19 Special Edition 2021 presents the views of Ukrainian female leaders regarding recent business activity and potential outcomes for economic growth. The survey provides an insight into how leadership thinking has changed as a result of the global pandemic. The Ukrainian section of the survey was conducted between 1 February and 21 February 2021 and covers 107 Female Leaders from a variety of industry sectors. The survey structure was based on 22 questions adapted from 2020 KPMG Global Female Leaders Outlook COVID-19 Special Edition.

Key findings:

  • The majority of participants (71 percent) are confident about the future growth of their companies.
  • 21 percent expect their company's revenue to increase by more than 20 percent over the next three years. 62 percent expect their company's revenue to grow by more than 2.5 percent.
  • 82 percent of female leaders surveyed agree that companies that can be successful in the digital economy will be the real winners of the crisis.
  • 96 percent of respondents agree that their company should improve innovation processes and their implementation.
  • 64 percent of respondents believe that the crisis will not affect the next step in their career. However, 21 percent said that their career growth may be negatively affected by the pandemic, while 15 percent acknowledge that they do not yet fully comprehend the full impact that this crisis will have on them.

The Global Female Leaders Outlook COVID-19 Special Edition provides insight into the minds of female leaders as the pandemic continues to upend societies, communities and economies. Nearly 700 female leaders across 52 countries were surveyed between September and October 2020 to understand the impact on their professional and personal priorities throughout the pandemic. They see the pandemic as a potential equalizer for a more inclusive workforce. Key findings include:

  • The proliferation of new digital communication and collaboration tools, alongside a growing talent pool afforded by remote working, may be a catalyst for gender equality.
  • Making a positive impact is a top motivator for female leaders around the world. Diversity and inclusion agendas, as well as climate change are top of mind.
  • Female leaders have seen the digital transformation of their businesses accelerating during the pandemic, but there is still room to improve innovation processes and execution.
