In the face of rapidly developing electromobility, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management is launching a competition that could become a key stimulus for the development of heavy vehicle charging infrastructure in Poland. With financial support of up to 100%, entities interested in building charging stations have the chance to implement ambitious projects that will contribute to sustainable transport development.

A detailed description of the competition for supporting the construction and development of publicly accessible charging stations for heavy transport has been published on the website of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. This program, running from 2024 to 2029, offers attractive conditions for entities interested in developing electromobility infrastructure.

The NFOŚiGW program is aimed at entrepreneurs who wish to actively participate in the development of eco-friendly transport. With the possibility of obtaining funding covering up to 100% of eligible costs, investing in charging stations becomes feasible.

The program's budget amounts to 2 billion PLN, with at least 80% allocated for the construction or expansion of charging stations located along the TEN-T core network. The remaining 20% of the budget will be directed towards projects at logistics centers, operational bases, and intermodal terminals.

The application process begins on March 31, 2025, and interested entities should prepare to meet the specified competition conditions. Key requirements include the location of stations at strategic points in the transport network and providing charging power at least 350 kW.

The NFOŚiGW priority program is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs who want to actively participate in the energy transition and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With financial support, it is possible not only to expand charging infrastructure but also to maintain the competitiveness of the Polish transport sector in the European market.

Simultaneously with the above call, NFOŚiGW has also announced a call for applications for projects related to the construction/development of power grids for high-capacity public charging stations. The program's available allocation amounts to 2 billion PLN. The call is aimed at Distribution System Operators (DSOs), giving investors the opportunity to avoid the costs associated with the infrastructure necessary to supply power to charging stations.
