The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) issued an Advisory today, 10 November 2016, that there has been intermittent availability of the electronic filing and payment system (eFPS) since 07 November 2016. Hence, eFPS taxpayers are advised to use the eBIRForms facility in filing tax returns and pay over-the-counter (thru cash, check or debt).
The BIR also issued Bank Bulletin No. 2016-30 advising all authorized agent banks (AABs) to manually accept “over-the-counter” withholding tax returns filed by taxpayers, together with the corresponding payments due thereon, until the close of banking hours of 11 November 2016, without collecting the corresponding penalties.
