On 1 April 2020, KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. hosted the first episode of the Staying Connected: Managing Through Crisis webinar series entitled We’ve Got You COVID: Reviewing the BIR’s Response to the Lockdown. This tackled the recent responses of regulators in the wake of the enhanced community quarantine and identified the ambiguities these responses have created and the potential solutions. On 2 April 2020, KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. hosted the second episode of the Staying Connected: Managing Through Crisis webinar series entitled A Framework for Managing Through Crisis.In this episode, participants were provided insights and a framework to help enhance their organizations’ response to the crisis. The speakers highlighted that having an effective crisis response can limit business interruption and the associated costs of a crisis and its aftermath.

Manabat & Co. hosted the third episode of the Staying Connected: Managing Through Crisis webinar series entitled Business Continuity Amidst the Coronavirus Outbreak on 6 April 2020.This episode discussed the immediate and medium-to-long term actions relevant to business continuity. With the pandemic, extended business interruption is becoming more likely and organizations must constantly review their business continuity plans to survive.

On 7 April 2020, KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. hosted Episode 4 of the Staying Connected: Managing Through Crisis webinar series entitled Implications of COVID-19 on Banks’ Risk Management. In this episode, the responses of some regulators in the ASPAC region to the crisis, and those of other banks in other markets were discussed. Aside from the short-term impacts, banks and other lending institutions must consider the mid to longer term impacts of the pandemic to their businesses.
