BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE

 

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued Bank Bulletin (BB) No. 04–2019 dated 11 March 2019 notifying all the BIR Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) regarding the over-the-counter acceptance of certain tax returns/payments of internal revenue taxes due to the unavailability of the electronic filing and payment system (eFPS).

All eFPS taxpayers have been instructed to file their tax returns using the eBIRForms facility or to file and pay their corresponding taxes “over the counter” with their respective AABs due to certain technical problems in filing the returns. Accordingly, all AABs are hereby advised to accept “over-the-counter” payments for taxes being paid through the eFPS which deadlines fall from 11 March onwards, without penalties for late filing and payment, provided they file and pay on or before the corresponding deadlines. This will be the case until such time that an advisory is issued declaring the restoration of the eFPS.
