      Carmela brings over 25 years of extensive experience to the tax practice. Initially, she dedicated five years to the Philippine member firm of Ernst &Young before joining KPMG in the Philippines in May 2003.

      Throughout her career, Carmela has delivered tax services to a diverse clientele comprising multinational and local companies spanning variousindustries, including information technology, real estate, warehousing and logistics, brokerage, power, telecommunications, construction, and healthcare.

      Her expertise extends to providing comprehensive tax advisory services, addressing a wide range of concerns such as cross-border transactions andcorporate restructuring. She has adeptly managed national and local tax assessments, tax due diligence reviews, tax compliance reviews, tax returnpreparation, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer pricing services. She is named as one of the leading female tax advisers in the first edition ofWomen in Tax by the International Tax Review.

      Carmela has played a crucial role in guiding clients through the intricacies of transfer pricing requirements in the Philippines, while also considering theregulatory frameworks of other jurisdictions. Additionally, she has assisted clients in strategizing the utilization of tax incentives in light of the proposedglobal minimum tax to be implemented in other jurisdictions.
