Maria Pogodaeva

Maria is a senior tech specialist and data engineer within the Advanced Analytics & Big Data team at KPMG Netherlands. She designs, builds, and maintains cloud‑native data and machine‑learning infrastructures on Azure, with a strong focus on robustness, automation, and production‑ready solutions. Her work includes setting up scalable data and ML pipelines, model deployment and orchestration, as well as MLOps, cloud engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps processes.

In projects, Maria combines technical depth with analytical insight and structured execution. She works with a wide range of technologies, including Azure Synapse, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Python, Spark, Git, and CI/CD practices. She continuously takes security and compliance guidelines into account.

Beyond her technical role, Maria actively invests in the development of people and teams. She contributes to the department’s Learning & Development strategy, helps shape growth paths for data engineers, and organizes knowledge‑sharing sessions. She is also involved in recruiting new technical talent, supporting the selection of strong engineering profiles.

Her previous experience in both academia and large‑scale event production has further strengthened her communication skills, stakeholder management, structured delivery, and ability to handle complexity under pressure. Maria is driven to build sustainable systems — as well as the teams and ways of working that support them.
