Charbel has more than 15 years of experience in the carbon markets, energy transition strategy and greenhouse gas (GHG) management, with a strong focus on energy intensive industries. Prior to joining KPMG, Charbel started his career as originator of alternative energy projects and investment manager of renewable energy fund. He has a track record of projects in more than 20 countries, working with multinationals offering GHG related services, reporting framework set up, portfolio scan and assessment, future outlook of technology scenarios and capacity building. He also supported several governments and public entities in setting up market infrastructure for carbon certificate trading.​

Charbel holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. He is fluent in Arabic, English and French (written and spoken), and lead the decarbonization and climate risk quantification and assessment services at KPMG Netherlands.
