Rob van der Gaarden

Rob is a Director in the IT Assurance & Advisory unit from KPMG The Netherlands in the areas of (IT) Assurance, Assurance related advisory engagements, information security (DNB good practice Information Security, NIS2, ISO), IT Audit, as well as in various other consulting projects related to (IT) risks. He has worked on IT audits for several international and national organizations in Technology providers, FS (banking, pensioning and insurance) and Media. Rob is the IT Attestation lead for The Netherlands and the SOC 2 lead for the KPMG EMEA region.

As an assurance auditor Rob is responsible for several recurring ISAE 3402/ SOC 1, SOC 2 and ISAE 3000 engagements. He support clients in their assurance journey from first year implementation up to very mature framework reviews. Furthermore, he helps clients transition to the cloud or (new) regulations such as, DSA/DMA, DNB good practice Information Security, NIS2, ISO etc. from a risk point of view; supporting clients on changes that need to be made from an assurance and (internal) controls perspective. In addition, he is an assurance standards trainer within KPMG internationally.
